If you're being chased by a police dog, try not to go through a tunnel, then on to a little seesaw, then jump through a hoop of fire. They're trained for that!
-- Milton Jones

If there is a worse time for something to go wrong,
it will happen then..
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried

Hello, this is Susan. I don't live here, so if you were trying to call me, you've dialed the wrong number. On the other hand, if you were trying to call John, Jim, or Eric, please leave your name and number at the tone. I don't guarantee that one of them will call you back -- only that I won't.

Thank you for phoning the Save the Sasquatch Hotline. Our operators do not exist at the moment, but if you wish to make a contribution, please leave your name, number, and the amount of your bequest at the sound of the beep, and something will get back to you shortly. Your help will enable us to bring these delightful creatures back from the brink of fantasy and find them suitable positions in the forest product industry. Your gift is, of course, reality deductible. Thank you again, and have a nice day

I really don't have anything to say today.... just that's it's always nice to have at least one lazy Sunday .... once in a while!

Here's my quote for the day!

"Never miss an opportunity to make others happy, even if you have to leave them alone in order to do it." - Unknown

Here's one for Skyplain ...

"Reasonable people adapt themselves to the world. Unreasonable people attempt to adapt the world to themselves. All progress, therefore, depends on unreasonable people." - George Bernard Shaw :)

And here's another ... keep your chin up..

"Each experience through which we pass operates ultimately for our good. This is a correct attitude to adopt and we must be able to see it in that light." - Raymond Holliwell

Good Morning Everyone!
Wow! Just too much snow.... It was up to my midriff because I don't have a car to block the driveway from "filling up"
Had to start work early ( one of the hazards & bonuses of working from home) to make up for those who couldn't get to work.

I recently had an "encounter" with the techs from the manufacturer of my wireless router that I thought I might share.

I am seriously dependent on my router to keep my work computer as well as my personal computer on the'net. Recently I upgraded that router and was advised by Eastlink to call the manufacturer's tech support to configure a "secure connection" to the 'net so my signal wouldn't be accessed by other wireless 'puters in the vicinity .... sounded like a plan.

I called the techs and got a message that the wait time was 22mins. The next message ( after about 5 mins.) advised that the wait time was 28mins.It kept growing until it reached 35mins. Now I may be wrong but I always thought that the longer you hold .... the closer you are to your goal *sigh* .

Eventually I got a real live person who said providing a secure connect was nooo problem (right!).Well whatever happened during that process completely messed up my personal computer's connection. I couldn't even get online. After work I called them back to get it fixed and after ( not including the wait time) 2hours they messed me up even further claiming I had a virus ( everything was ok before that call) or it was spyware, followed by my PCI card was no good to ultimately we can't help you .... you are on your own.so.... they dumped me .... just like that. I can see that Good customer service is not high on their priority list!

I did eventually work things out .... on my own! After hours of resetting the router and doing a system restore, but wow .... my next router will come from somewhere else.

And today's quote is .....

04/30/01
"I sometimes wonder if the manufacturers of foolproof items keep a fool or two on their payroll to test things."
---Alan Coren

Have a Wonderful Day ( and thanks a million for "listening")

This will be my first journal entry ( I'm just a little nervous)and I thought I'd do it before starting work.

For those of you who do not live in the maritimes, we are having a major blizzard today.Everything everywhere is closed ( except essential personnel such as police, fire, city works, hospitals and Call Center workers! ). I am just so very grateful to be a work from home associate! I would never have been able to make it to work on time today :)
I guess I don't really have much to say today, not enough coffee I think. I'll try to think of something for tomorrow.

Here's a few quotes I thought I would share...( all found on Humorous Quotations)

10/31/00
"A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments, soccer games, romances, best friends, location of friend's houses, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams. A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house."
---Unknown

"It is amazing how quickly the kids learn to drive a car, yet are unable to understand the lawnmower, snowblower or vacuum cleaner."
---Ben Bergor

06/28/00
"Home is a place where teenagers go to refuel."
---Unknown

Have a Wonderful Day!

Who Should Paint You: M.C. Escher

Open and raw, you would let your true self show for your portrait.
And even if your painting turned out a bit dark, it would be honest.
